Welcoming Kamanu Lind as Mahele Farm Manager

Kamanu Lind.JPG

Born and raised in Hāna, Kamanu Lind is a 4th generation farmer. His determination and passion sparks his inspiration to Aloha ʻĀina.

Kamanu started his run with Ma Ka Hana Ka ʻIke as a student apprentice at Mahele Farm eight years ago. After exploring life on the mainland with his future wife, Destiny Lind, Kamanu returned home and became a graduate teacher, and then manager for Mālama Hāloa. Over a year ago, Mahele Farm called him back once again. And with the farm in need of a second managerial position, Kamanu was ready to step up and be an ambassador for the farmʻs mission.

Kamanuʻs strengths are his passion, patience, and his work ethic - he is truly “salt of the earth”.

“When I am out on the ʻāina, moving and working as my kūpuna before me, I understand that I belong in the lepo; cultivating and producing ʻai pono for the community as well as teaching the next generation how it’s done by leading by example.”

We are proud to have Kamanu join Mikala Minn, Mahele Farm Program Manager, in this new position. It is a natural evolution of the Farm, capturing the potential of its rising youth leadership.
