Picture one of the cottages we built rolling down the highway on the back of a flatbed truck through the winding streets of Hana. We built the one-room hale on campus then moved it—through a whole-community effort—to the property of an auntie who has always opened her home, a house built by her father in the 1920s, to her ʻohana and extended family. The Building Program cottage now gives Auntie a space of her own.
